Yesterday the power flickered in Centennial, just enough to make you have to reset all the clocks. I was fixing the microwave clock when I realized it was 11:51 am and my Kickboxing class was at noon. In that moment I had to decide to go to class making a mad dash or to miss it. I am lucky that LA Boxing in Littleton is close by but, it takes time to wrap my hands when I get there. Accepting the fact that I would be late and mostly like take some teasing from my personal trainer who was teaching the class I chose to go.
When I got in the class I felt really good about my choice. I had been feeling stressed and somewhat down but, going to class instantly changed my mood and gave me energy for the rest of the day. When I think back to how I used to handle things like this I would have not gone to class because I would be late. Just like the times when you eat something unheathy and conclude that you blown the whole day. Which then gives you permission to eat whatever you want since tomorrow you can start fresh. The perfectionist approach to diet and exercise does not work. We can never be perfect and when we blackslide it is important to pick up ourselves and get back on track. At the end of the day you will feel really good about your choices. I know I did !

When it comes to weight loss there are lots of diets and workout programs. Choosing one or even combining the two can get you some immediate success however, unless you address your food issues you may end up exactly where you were before you started. There are lots of diets that work and even more workout programs however, what seems to be missing these days is the emotional part of weight loss.
Losing weight is a process and there are many emotional phases that one goes through to be successful. From learning what you triger foods are, what purpose they serve in your emotional life and learning to not give in to that craving. Learning to forgive yourself for mistakes in eating and picking yourself up to get back on track. Coping with how your body loses weight vs. where you want to lose the weight from first. Also learning how to make peace with your body type is important. All these are an important part of the process.
I will be writing more about weight management and explaining how Life Coaching can help you to achieve your weight loss goals. It is a subject that I am very close to and I have worked hard to acheive my goals. I would like to share them with you. Feel free to comment on you experiences and share them.
